The Agbara Fund was created in Sep 1st, 2020 to mitigate the sanitary crisis, but switched its focus to social and economic inequalities, historically faced by black women. Not by coincidence the first registered death by covid in Brazil was a black housecleaner woman.
The lack of public policies and the lack of access to basic services in Brazil – such as health and sanitation – worsened the experience of this portion of the population, making clear that black women besides having the greatest COVID mortality rate than any other group, have the least access to credit and the most closed businesses.

We believe that a financial subsidy is fundamental for starting over.
However, the sustainable development of such production chain is urgent, to warrant long-term results through the qualification of black women – who will in turn promote…., ensuring income generation and productive inclusion for these women and the integral development of their initiatives.

Aligned with what we defend and believe in, the Agbara Fund acts for:

Female and racial empowerment

Responsible consumption

Entrepreneurship and creative economy

Income generation and productive inclusion

Inequality mitigation

Quality education

Donation culture

Community development
The purpose of the Agbara Fund programs is to promote the recovery of initiatives by black women affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, through the potential for the integral development of income generation initiatives, whether individual or collective, led by black women, the from 18 years old, lasting 02 months, in order to contemplate three different types of skills: economic autonomy, intellectual autonomy and emotional autonomy. In addition, 02 individual mentorships are offered for each participant.
We believe that even facing a past of over 300 years of negligence and marginalization - the insertion and qualification of black people in the workforce will happen only through recurring investments to value diversity, through strategies that consider to influence engagement of all stakeholders, staff, clients, suppliers and strategic partners of all society.
The 2-month program includes two individual mentorship sessions for each participant, around 3 distinct abilities: Economic, intellectual and emotional autonomy.
