The Agbara festival

Agbara’s black women festival was born to celebrate Agbara’s anniversary. It promotes access to the initiatives to sell their products without vendor fees, with the presence of  local artists and marginal culture groups.
The festival grows each year. The 1st edition was online and counted with 4 days of programming, and the last day with 6h of live programs with debates about culture, racism, whiteness, entrepreneurship among others.
The 2nd edition was in-person in Campinas/SP, through the PROAC (São Paulo State Cultural Incentive Program). The PROAC was created in 2006 to finance artistic activities such as drama theater, dance, circus, audiovisual and comics among others, donating through yearly publications. The festival also counted with SESC Campinas aid.

 

First Agbara’s black women festival

The free virtual festival took place from Sep-1st through 5th in 2021 to celebrate Agbara’s 1st anniversary, with the presence of national black celebrities with themes pertinent to all society, aiming to increase visibility to our actions, propagating awareness of the fund through partnerships, including SINTPq union that lent the auditorium for the transmission to Agbara’s youtube channel.

Agbara’s 2nd black women festival

The 2nd festival happened in Sep 3rd in SESC Campinas from 9am to 8pm, and had the special presence of Leci Brandão.

Idealized since 2021, the festival counted with a partnership with SESC Campinas and funding from PROAC ICMS, which made the event possible
The festival had an online pre-festival between the 29th and 31st of August, streamed on Agbara Fund’s Youtube channel. The in-person event counted with 1500 attendees, over 20 expositors and local artists, workshops and talks.
 The goal of the event was to prestige and celebrate the life, the history and the fight of black women.
